RESIDENTS:
Self Help will be open later hours, from 7:00 am until 5:00 pm on Tuesday, February 9th and Wednesday, February 10th so that residents may pick up ice melt and snow shovels as the supplies have now been replenished from the previous storm. Drop off your old cell phone at the UC Leasing Office and help our troops call home!
For every cell phone donated, Recellular will donate a 100 minute international phone card to the Cell Phones for Soldiers program. Military Units can then request these free phone cards for their troops. Since a call home from overseas can cost up to $7.00 per minute it is very valuable to be able to provide these free calling cards to soldiers. Scholarships for Military Children
"Scholarships for Military Children" applications are now available in commissaries worldwide and online through a link at
https://www.commissaries.com
and directly at http://www.militaryscholar.org. The scholarships program
is administered by Fisher House Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides assistance to service members and their families.
Scholarship Managers, a national, nonprofit, scholarship management services organization, manages and awards the scholarships. Commissary vendors,
manufacturers, brokers, suppliers and the general public donate money to the program, and every dollar donated goes directly to funding the
scholarships.
Dependent, unmarried children, younger than age 21 (age 23 if enrolled as a full- time student at a college or university) of active duty personnel, Reserve, Guard and retired military members, survivors of service members who died while on active duty, or survivors of individuals who
died while receiving retired pay from the military may apply for a
scholarship. The applicant must be planning to attend, or already be attending, an accredited college or university full time in the fall of 2010, or be enrolled in a program of studies designed to transfer directly into a four-year program.

Valentine's Day Coloring Contest
We are looking for the next Picasso! Stop by the Leasing Office and pick up your coloring book! Books are due back to the Leasing Office by Friday, Saturday, February 13th. Winners will be chosen for each age category.

Community Center
We are excited to announce that the opening of our Community Center in Falcon Courts North will be this month. Stay tuned to our web site for details on the Grand Opening Event!
The new community center will feature a 24 hour fitness center with a kids play room attached, an Internet cafe with Skype capabilities, a conference room, a kitchen, and a great room with a fireplace; perfect for any event.
It will be available for events and meetings with a cleaning deposit. Once your event is over, your deposit will be returned to you as long as the Community Center is returned in good condition.
